Hi,
Recently on a trip to Singapore I became unwell with severe lower abdomen pain, I was 11 weeks pregnant at this time. I was seen by a Gynacologist who prescribed 37.5mgs tramadol HCI 325mg paracetamol in the tablet form called Ultracet, I was also given midazolam and buscopan. I only took one sleeping pill and the buscopan just made me very sick, but I took 8 over 48hrs of the Ultracet, for pain manangement. Since coming home I have looked up this medication and found that Tramadol can cause problems and should not be prescribed during pregnancy. I have since had a PV bleed but a scan at 12 weeks shows our baby to be okay.
Please can anyone give me information about wether this medication Ultracet is used in pregnancy I was assured by the doctor it was safe, as I asked several times. Will it of harmed our baby? and if it can cause harm, how does this normally show itself? This baby is very much wanted and your answers to this question will not alter our intention to go ahead with the pregnancy. We just want to know if we should be concerned and if so what to look for or prepare ourselves for.
Thanks for your help
