No, it is not a narcotic..

Salsalate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking several different chemical processes within the body that cause pain and inflammation. It is used to treating pain and inflammation due to arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
