I have been prescribed both of these medications for nerve pain following a lower back partial laminectomy. I was fine for a full year following surgery, with no need for any type of pain medication. Just recently, my doctor verified that I would not need additional surgery (woohoo!), but I was prescribed these two medications for the recent nerve pain.
