I'm allergic to sulfa and have been giving my dog potassium citrate for bladder stone issues. I have developed a rash after handling the potassium citrate that is the same type I developed while taking sulfa when I found out I was allergic.
Is there any connection between potassium citrate and sulfa?

It's really hard to say whether the particular potassium citrate tablets you have, has any sulfa content in them. The actual active ingredient potassium citrate does not have it so perhaps there is some excipient in the tablet which may contain sulfa.
Another reason for the rash could be that you are allergic to something else that's in the tablet.
