Is there a way to stop/shorten a gallbladder attack once it starts?

I also have gallbladder attacks. I have prescribed pain medicine and use it whenever I get attacks. But at times they don't work fast enough that the pain starts to increase and I end up going into the urgent care so they can shoot up a really strong pain reliever in my body. I asked them what they were giving me, but I totally forgot. But once it enters your body, all the pain is gone! I had an attack this morning and I ran out of my stong pain meds so I'm on dicyclomine, which I don't think will have a big effect on my pain. If the pain is intolerable, go to the emergency room. I don't know any other way, other than that pain reliever that they shot me up with.
