a young friend w/ liver transplant x2 was cut off her medicaid because she worked 16hrs at a minimum wage job. She ran out of prograf and has been unable to get her meds. has been out for 2 days now. She was born w/ a malformed biliary artery and had 1st transplant at age 9, 2nd at age 20. She is 27 and under educated, unable to really get a better paying job. Needs help badly.
Is there a program or way to get prograf when you have no insurance, and are unable to buy the medi?

Have her call her Congressman immediately. They can not sign a death warrent.
Have her appeal the medicaid decision. As soon as an appeal is activiated they have to give her, her medication till the hearing has been conducted. If it goes her way she wins.
Have her go to the E.R, and tell them she is very sick. They will send a social worker down to assist her. They have an in at Medicaid !!
Also is she on Social Security? If not get on it.
