Estratest (esterified estrogens/methyltestosterone) is a mixture of estrogens along with a testosterone hormone. It is used for treating menopause symptoms.
Estratest is made by Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Although other medications are available that contain the same active ingredients in the same doses, it is not clear whether such medications can be considered generic versions of Estratest.
Estratest has never been approved by the FDA and as a result, it is technically impossible to determine whether any medication (generic or otherwise) is equivalent to Estratest.
( The FDA is responsible for determining which medications are equivalent to each other.)
