... and our local pharacy tells us they can no longer get it. We have not been able to fine another pain med that works as well for Mom? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Roxanol = Morphine Sulfate
The FDA has now resorted to asking the manufactures if the good, out weights the bad when it comes narcotics. Some companies did not want to go through the paper work, so instead discontinued their drugs not to mess with the Feds. I am NOT saying all drugs are discontinued they are questioning heavy narctoics.Check with your doctor, he/she can find out for you who else makes the drug or simular drug that works best for her.
Have you also thought maybe your pharmacy discontinued this heavy narctoic because they have been robbed too many times.So they (the pharmacy) just does not carry it any more. You may have to check with your doctor and find out if he/she has a suggestion.
Maybe it is time for your mother see a Doctor that is Certified in Pain Management, if you are not seeing one now.
Roxanol is not Commercially Available in USA. but Generic name Products may be Available in the USA. i looked this up. and this is the info i found.i will do more reseach to try and find out some generic names for you. or you may be able to ask a Dr or call a drug store if you need to know ASAP. hope this helped you some.
