Is rituximab used for steroid dependant nephrotic syndrome in a 2 yr old?

Perhaps giving this child just rituximab will help reset her white blood cell count ... but you must also be aware that rituximab can also cause:

Immunologic side effects have included B-cell depletion in 70% to 80% of patients. This was associated with decreased serum immunoglobulins in a minority of patients.

It can aslo cause neutropenia.

However, doctors must have seen benefits before and that's why they want to change.
