Quetiapine Fumarate 100MG tab. is it breakable. if not what are the sideaffects for a broken tablet.

genaric precription from the VA medical center. Was wonedring what the exterior coating of the pill is for. is it a buffer, to controll the release, or just to hold it togeather?

If it's a generic then I'm not sure but as far as I know the original brand (Seroquel 100mg) tablets are not extended release so they are fine to break.
If you break then extended release tablet, the coating becomes disturbed and it's release profile is disturbed ... so basically you'll get more medicine in your system all at once rather than gradually. This can even cause toxicity.
