MY SON WAS PRESCRIBED THIS MEDICINE FOR VOMITING AND NAUSEA?? WHY?? I DO NOT SEE WHY THIS WAS HIS DOCTORS CHOICE OF PRESCRIPTION, AFTER RESEARCHING THIS DRUG, NOTHING SUGGESTS THIS TO BE APPROPRIATE FOR HIS SYMPTOMS..

Promethazine is commonly used as an antihistamine in combination cough and cold products. Promethazine is also used as an antiemetic or to prevent motion sickness.
it is also sometimes combined with opiates (namely demoral) to combat the itching and nausea that are common side affects of narcotics.
