It is very possible that naloxone would be given to reverse the effects of an anesthetic over dose or just to reverse the effects of the anesthesia for some other medical reason. In either case it would most likely be administered through IV. (intravenously). It can, however be administered IM (an injection in muscle tissue, usually in the buttocks.)
Hope this helps.
