I have trouble staying asleep and using doxylamine helps. Can I use it on a continued basis?

Doxylamine is an antihistamine. It works by depressing the central nervous system (brain) to produce drowsiness.It is recommended to treat occasional sleeplessness only.
If you feel you need to use doxylamine on a continued basis you should see your doctor. There are medicines that are considered safer to use long term.
