I have Chf and I take Lasix for leg swelling. I have heard from some good sources that Chlorthalidone is much better for CHF Patients. Does anyone have any reliable knowlege about this?
P.S. I also take Norvasc, Enalapril and Nadolol.

I realize this answer is very, very late but may be of some help in future.
Lasix (furosemide) and Chlorthalidone work at different places of the renal tubules so effectiveness may be slightly different in different people. I may be wrong but I have not heard of one being better for congestive heart failure.
Lasix (furosemide) is a loop diuretic (water pill) that prevents your body from absorbing too much salt, allowing the salt to instead be passed in your urine.
Lasix treats fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, liver disease, or a kidney disorder such as nephrotic syndrome. This medication is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).

Chlorthalidone is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention.
