Is itchiness a dangerous side effect from hydrocodone homatropine?

Details:

After one dose of this for cough and chest congestion, I became super itchy all over. It lasted for hours! Nuisance or danger?

Most opiates cause us to release histamines which causes the itchiness. Try taking a slow release (12 hour) anti-histamine, you can ask your pharmacist which one thwey recommend...So other then it being a drag it normally doesn't have any lasting effects.....Dave
