If you absolutely need it then it should be okay to take Norgesic long term ... however, it may cause side effects such as gastrointestinal side effects. Do discuss it with your doctor if you are using it long term.

Caffeine is used in this combination to increase the pain relieving effects of aspirin and orphenadrine.
