Benzo withdrawal is the only group of medications that can cause death if withdrawn to quickly. Even with a good understanding, it's important to run your plan by a doctor so that if something should go wrong, your doc is aware of the situation. When detoxing from opioids, they cause severe discomfort and that's it. Benzos however can cause seizures and death. Hope that this is of some help.
