I am stressing a bit now that after 10 years with the Hashimoto symptoms. My TSH levels on my last 3 blood tests have been just at the high end of normal 5.48, I am just starting to feel ok, not the roller coaster of symptoms and now my Dr. has decided I should go on the Meds.
Any opinions on this?
Is it normal for a Dr. to want to give levoxyl for Hashimotos?

Your TSH level is above 5 which is evidence of hypothyroidism. Thyroid hormone treatment (levoxyl) is recommended.
However it is your decision and if you have been feeling well recently you have the right to question your doctors treatment.

yes. levoxyl is the basic same as synthroid. it replaces the drug your thyroid no longer produces properly. i have severe hashimotos. i had an original tsh of 145.578! the doctors couldnt believe i was alive! i had been undiagnosed for years. i am now on .175 of levoxyl, and my thyroid is still high. not over 145, but still above 10, so i might have to get my thyroid removed. i dont know much about this disease all i do know is that it makes me real tired and fat1 i hate it!
