HeddyjaneMy husband sent away for generic due to high co-pays. He had hypertensive crisis, BP 200/110, after BP had crept up over the course of several months on the generic. He is back on "Benicar" with BP in good control. Noticed some web sites state there is no true generic for Benicar and it won't be available due to patent laws till 2016. Is this true? BJB

Yes this is true generic benicar will not be available until 2016.-
