I can't seem to get my insurance to pay for Levsin SL. They say it isn't approved or something supposedly no FDA backing if this is true why are doctors giving out? It does work great for me as I am in serious pain all the time with my stomach, severe nausea and vomiting too, but the Levsin seems to help. My insurance is through Medicare and Medicaid of NH I don't understand there reasoning about not paying for something that actually works. My GI doctor and my primary care doctor says they think that is the only drug that may help me any. I guess they would rather pay $1000.00 a day for emergency room trips for pain and dehydration from the vomiting than pay about $150.00 a month for meds, go figure that's the government for you. If anyone knows who makes this drug so I can see if the drug company has a drug plan I would appreciate it if you could let me know. I finally find something that helps and I can't get it. Where is it cheaper or is there anything identical to it. If someone can help me I would appreciate it. Thank you all for any help you can give me. Marjorie

Yes, this medicine isn't FDA approved therefore isn't a registered medicine in U.S.
Your doctor should be able to help you out with the information regarding manufacturer, etc.

Thank you. I will try the link you left and also talk to the doctor it seems to be the only thing that helps. I was finally able to get a few today so hopefully I will begin to feel better soon. I wonder why it isn't approved, from what I was told it is an old drug and very popular because it has hardly any side effects like alot of other drugs. Thanks again you were a big help. marjorie
I found the drug Levsin SL listed as manufactured by Schwarz Pharmacy, but no address was listed. The pill is imprinted with Schwart 532 and is listed as Levsin SL. Maybe you can find the company listed on the Internet. I also take the drug which works miracles on my esophageal spasms, but my medicare drug company no longer carries it.
Levsin IS approved in the US and my insurance now pays for it after a long fight. Thanks, marjorie zych
If your insurance pays for it, what is the name of your drug insurance plan? Mine refuses to pay for it, but will fill my prescription for $89 which I cannot afford monthly. Also, why would they carry it and fill the RX if it is not an approved?
It is an approved drug my friend. After arguing with my insurance which is Northeast Community Care, with the help from my pharmacy, Hannafords we found out it has an approval and is now paid for by my insurance. It is a miracle drug I know so I am so glad it is now paid for and I have only a co-pay. Good luck hope the info I gave you will help you too. Happy Thanksgiving to all marjorie zych
