hernandaz...I been on ambien for insomina but it doesnt work as good anymore. The only thing i take at night is Valium 10mg but that doesnt work for my sleep ether. In other experiances whats a medication good for insomina?

Im on the Valium for SAD, Anxiety and panic attacks. Doc aint going to switch benzos unless its to Xanax witch i already been on for the last 2 years.

Hi Hernandez,
Have you tried Melatonin? It is natural, our brains produce it, and some people that have insomnia do NOT produce this chemical. Melatonin can be purchased at any pharmacy, OTC.
Also there is a relatively new sleep med, Silenor, I didnt have success with it, but others have.
What actually works for me is Benadryl, but don't mix it with benzos my friend.

Have you tried Trazodone? Not sure if you can take it with your Valium. But, I've been on it several times and it always put me out. There is also Amitryptline, but there's a lot of drug interactions with it. Just talk to your dr. Tell him you're not getting relief with your current combo. I also agree with the others about the Melatonin.
