Infections - Does having UTI before ovulation (day 13 after LMP) kill off sperm in the vagina and/or

Details:

I was diagnosed for UTI on day 13 after LMP... took cipro for 5 day... and discovered I was pregnant after 2 weeks (although I don't have regular period)... does this infection affect ovulation and/or kill off sperm in the vagina cos I heard latelty that taking cipro might cause birth defect or preterm labor... I had sex with my partner on day 12 & 16... is it possible that I got pregnant before taking cipro.. my 9 month pregnancy start on 25 August... I'm really worried..

See your other question. I gave you the approximate date you got pregnant, and also answered about the birth defects, I have to get to work, so can't repeat now.

No infection wil kill off sperm. Only spermicides do that. It would be best to contact your dr about your concerns for the baby. It is possible that your were pregnant when you were diagnosed with the UTI or after you took the CIPRO, difficult to say, as your cycles are not regular. Patti
