Often comes with BPE. This is all very new. I'd like to hear from men, or their ladies that can tell me how it is working out, and what dose is used for urinary hesitancy? What dose it used to help men who want to use it to gain an erection ? I was given 5 mg a day for the hesitancy problem. Does this sound about right, or no?

I had been given a similar drug for urinary hesitancy. It was Flomax. I was on it for a week. It worked, and I can say that for the first time in a long time I had no problem peeing which was a great relief, BUT... the side effects were simply unbearable. I was dizzy, sweating, and many other side effects which I forget at this point, but when I called the pharmacist to ask a question about it, he was floored. He told me that he could name at least 50 other medications, older, that would be a lot more effective for urinary hesitancy, without all the side effects of Flomax. The reason I bring this up is because pharmaceutical companies are pushing newer more expensive meds to keep their patents up, rather than doctors relying on the older "generic" meds that are time tested and work just as well if not better and with less side effects.
My doctor has been very honest with me, and when I told him which doctor prescribed the Flomax, he told me that the drug company was PAYING that doctor to go around to other doctors for weekly lunches educating them about it. It makes me SICK to think that a doctor (first do NO harm) is bought out by pharmaceutical companies, and only prescribes their patented medications, instead of a better choice, especially for a woman. G-d knows how many people are dying from the wrong medication choices because of publicity, pay offs, etc.
I think that everybody on this site has at least five different medications that they "have" to take. Pain meds, anti-depressants, laxatives to offset the side effects of pain meds, muscle relaxers, anti anxiety meds, I could go on and on. And how many of these meds that we take are "new", vs. being older than 10 years. I think that we should start a discussion about the doctors and the pharmaceutical companies, and exactly what they are doing to OUR bodies, and if it truly is helping us or hurting us further, or in different ways.
You post made me so angry, because cialis is about to go off patent, and now they can extend it another 18 years. This is a society that is driven by $$$$. The pharmaceutical companies are some of the richest companies in the world, and they don't want to change a thing. Since last January, the government has made it illegal to give out pads of paper, pre-written scripts, pens, toilet paper, you name it for free out to doctors. (yes I have seen toilet paper, AND sanitary napkins with the name of drugs on it) How many people on this list have pens and pads of papers in their homes with drug name on it. I'm willing to bet that you have more than one!! Now since they can't do that, instead they provide elaborate lunches, trips, for educational purposes, you know, kick backs on how many scripts are filled etc. Doctors are hush hush about all this, I just happen to have a few friends who work for doctors who tell me.
When has this country changed from caring for the patient, to caring for the drug companies?? Cialis was supposed to be a heart medication, until they found out that the participants in the studies didn't want to give their samples back at the end of their study. Why? Because it made their sex life better. So here you are taking a medication originally made for heart disease, later changed for sexual impotence for urinary hesitancy! Does that make you question what else this drug is doing to your body??
This entire situation makes me SICK!! (of course not you Thor :-)

My understanding is that the cialis stays in your system for days so the 5 mg a day dose is typical for men who want to be able to have an erection at any time, because after three days you will have 15 mg in you... which should do the trick for most guys. 20 mg is what you take if you want to have sex in 6 to 8 hours from taking it.
