Often comes with BPE. This is all very new. I'd like to hear from men, or their ladies that can tell me how it is working out, and what dose is used for urinary hesitancy? What dose it used to help men who want to use it to gain an erection ? I was given 5 mg a day for the hesitancy problem. Does this sound about right, or no?
In the last few weeks the FDA has approved the use of Cialis to treat urinary Hesitancy which?

I had been given a similar drug for urinary hesitancy. It was Flomax. I was on it for a week. It worked, and I can say that for the first time in a long time I had no problem peeing which was a great relief, BUT... the side effects were simply unbearable. I was dizzy, sweating, and many other side effects which I forget at this point, but when I called the pharmacist to ask a question about it, he was floored. He told me that he could name at least 50 other medications, older, that would be a lot more effective for urinary hesitancy, without all the side effects of Flomax. The reason I bring this up is because pharmaceutical companies are pushing newer more expensive meds to keep their patents up, rather than doctors relying on the older "generic" meds that are time tested and work just as well if not better and with less side effects.
PS: Just look at all the medications are being advertised all over the web. Are we doctors?? Yet the pharmaceutical companies are relying on the patient to tell the doctor, oh yeah, I want THAT med, the one where the man and woman are holding hands. have you all noticed that the advertisements are getting smarter and smarter, and when we are on other parts of the web, the same drug ads keep coming up for you? I know on facebook, and gmail, these ads are specified for what content is IN YOUR EMAIL!! It's getting very scary out there, and again, all driven for $$$$, and it's not yours that they care about. You know some side effects of Cialis, Viagra, etc make people see BLUE! What kind of drug, again made for the heart, then used because of a side effect for sexual pleasure, and now urinary hesitancy, gives side effects in your brain of seeing BLUE!!! Does that scare you, because it sure as hell scares me.
Hi Ellen,
Down girl, down girl. LOL Ellen I agree with your point here. Especially the advertising of prescription drugs on TV. When did that start, in 2000 or so, right? It wasn't always so. Btw, I never wrote back to Larry because the Collectors don't call all that often. But tell him I greatly appreciate his time in writing to me. At the most I have 1 calling once a day, and another sending me mail once a week. Not lawsuit material from what he said. But next time I need legal advice, I know who to ask. So again, thank him for me.
Now about this problem of mine. It started in the early 1990's and has grown much worse. In 2001 I went to a urologist who was a butcher and he tore me up inside my penis. I needed Larry then. But I was in grief, and I never pursued a lawsuit. It's 10 years and I'm still not normal. I may never be normal again. But I think the statute of limitations passed. I should have sued the bastard.

my husband uses this for his other problem and he takes 20mgs when we do our thing haha and i have noticed it doesn't help his urinary problems as i am alwaays telling him to go to the doctor to see why it takes him so long to start peeing. Don't know if it helped or not.Leron
wow i didn't realize my husbands problems could be coming from his back problems thanks for that info Leron
Your spine controls everything in your body. Think about it, if you break your spine, it completely numbs everything from that point on, and your organs go on autonomic nervous systems to keep you alive. break your spinal cord further up, and you can't breath, even further up and you are brain dead.

My understanding is that the cialis stays in your system for days so the 5 mg a day dose is typical for men who want to be able to have an erection at any time, because after three days you will have 15 mg in you... which should do the trick for most guys. 20 mg is what you take if you want to have sex in 6 to 8 hours from taking it.

Thanks sweetie, Now I hope I get some responses from people who use it for that. I also asked my Doc how much a man would take when he wanted to be ready for fun & games, and he said 20 mg. So that got me thinking 5 mg is an awfully low dose. And these pills are very expensive. The doc gave me a coupon the reps gave him so I didn't have to pay for them. But it makes me wonder if this dose will do anything. However, I think I will wait to take them until after Thursday. I'm finally going to a cardio because of what happened a month ago. That shortness of breath attack I had.
I have to say it amazes me how much Bupe has done for my mental attitude. Back in 2004 when my Gall Bladder was removed I wanted to sign a DNR. That's how depressed I was. But now I hope whatever has to be done goes well, and I hope my health is much better after the surgery. Maybe I can get out and meet someone. I would still like to be married someday.
Did you go for your tests? How did they come out?
O d@mnation!! I cannot see what ye wrote Thor, so I'm flyin' blind here pal.
I hope the cialis works for ya, and I do hope you get married one day as well.
I did NOT get my tests done (thank you for asking friend) yet, will do it Monday I hope...
Does cialis work for women in the urinary hesitancy/retention area? Do you have that info? I'd really love to know that!! And does it help women with the O? Sorry if I've embarassed anyone?
Thank you again Thor!!
Lara
Hi Lara,
The short answer is, I don't know. But when do I stop with a short answer. Never, huh.
The issue you brought up is an issue I thought someone else tried to bring up 2 weeks ago. This woman's phone wasn't working well and I couldn’t make out the words. Anyway I was flamed and bashed, and so I got out of Dodge. But below Msfino says there are many other drugs to help women with urinary hesitancy. I guess so. I don't know. They really don't know why I have this. It started way back in the early 1990's. They blame it on BPH which is common in older men. Obviously this can't happen to you ladies.

As far as I know Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis work by allowing more blood to get down to the groin area. This helps a man become erect. I don't know how it helps urination. But the question for you lassies is does bringing more blood to the groin area help sexual function? I know of no studies being done, but my guess is yes, it would. How, I'm not sure. Blood is the fluid of life. Ancient man thought our lives was in our blood. No, it isn't, but you certainly can't be alive without blood. Since blood feeds every cell in the body, I would think that giving a woman with a Big O problem more blood down there would help in some way. IMO it's going to take some very brave and intelligent women to try this, and if it works they have to tell their doc's and make the docs understand that the ED meds can help certain women too.
Does this make sense. I just woke up. I slept too late today.
Women have tried it, and they do use it. They say it makes their sex life much more how do I say this delicately... fulfilling. Now they are trying to get it approved for women. Also women who have trouble with sex, this helps them too. Remember, off labeling prescriptions have been happening for a long time.
YesThor, that did make sense to me, you have to have the blood flow and circulate. But I don't know about all the new studies going on. Von
My comment is that any of us taking pain drugs are going to have a harder time no matter what, urinating or sex...
