There aren't any instructions for these new pre-filled pens (just the old twist and click to attach the vile version) - has anyone used the new ones?

Yes, the Statdose Pen I have used. It can be painful for the first 10 seconds. Depending on where you use it, I recommend that immediately after you use it, apply an ice pack immediately on the spot. Otherwise, you'll get a big bump from it. Plus, the ice can instantly relieve the bite from the injection. Not a fan of this because I did not find that it was helpful.
