be honest if they drug test you it may show up but i can't believe they could let you go for an anti-depressant unless there is more to your story i worked in a dental office for 25 years while taking an anti-depressant with no problem i was honest and up front about it but it was a small office and we were like family(that is until i had a breakdown) then everything was a different story. best of luck. missy

School or Transit operator? If it's Transit and you operate in a city, more than likely you are a Union member? There is an agreement between the Amalgamated Transit Union and its' "employer" that all operators must sign a formal document that states what medications you are taking. Regardless of the type of med. If it's a medication that comes with the standard warning "do not take this medication while driving or operating heavy machinery" until you know how you react to it. It is a MUST that the doctor sign off on that document. On the other hand, if you operate a school bus, some not all, school districts request that you inform them of any meds that may affect your driving ability. If your employer did not give you this form, I would be upfront with them and have a note from the doctor that states it is safe for you to drive while on this medication.

Missy, when you are responsible for the lives of other peoples children, you can bet your bottom dollar they will fire her if she had an accident (mandatory testing) and a medication was in her system that she didn't disclose. No offense but there is a big difference between dental care and child care. Anti-depressants can make you dizzy and tired.
I did more research on this med. It's main effect is sedation and blurred vision. Not a good medication to be on while operating buses.
didn't i say say be HONEST maybe she could do a desk job or something i wouldn't want her to put children's lives at risk thanks for the pun on my job i've had enough of drug .com today is it. ya'll can have it i thought we we're here to help .
i told her to be HONEST with her employer so that children would not be at risk sorry for the misunderstanding. in some companies you can come back on a desk maybe that's what i was thinking. missy
