last year I took armour and did well until they reformulated the product. Now my weight has shot up. My doc switched me to nature tryoid and this product to has been reformulated. they addes starch as a filler which makes me fat. I can't take levoxyl or synthroid as I became allergic. I was on naturthroid until the armour shortage and then couldnt get it anymore. Then they reformulated both of them and they both suck now. I loved the old naturthroid but now it does cause me to gain weight too. almost ten pounds in a month and a half. I am now on just t3 and loving it. My depression , joint pain, and foggy brain is alot better. Only been on it for three months but every week I feel better.

I have gone to the endo this week and she put me on levothronine and again I'm allergic. I called to local pharmacy's here in florida and found a local pharmacy that is making the armour and the filler is the old formulation. Next week I will have the new medicine and will let you know how it works. That's the problem with most medicines. These fillers are awful. We think the drug is helping but to find out they are really hurting us. They are making them out of bark, plants, shrubs and berries, grass etc. I have terrible allergies and we have no clue until we ask what is the filler. In the levoxyl, its sulfur again I'm allergic. I took that for 18 years until my body rejected the drug. I always had a sore throat. Do says oh you have allergies. Bull, this made it worse to know the filler is made out of mother nature that they add chemicals too it. I think we all should watch everything we wear, perfume, soap, fruit, vegetables and so on. I'm 42 and boy now I pay attention. These doctors, some don't care. It's just one drug and another and another. Keeps the health system happy and us miserable. I have gained 45 pounds in a year. It sucks. I have hope. :)
Sorry you have been thru so much. I should have worded my meds differently. I am on the generic cytomel right now. I seem to have problems converting T4 to T3. I was on five grains of armour and feeling very hypo. I took it upon myself to do some reading and talked my Doc into testing my Reverse T3 and it was a bit high. I am lucky to have a Doc that listens to my symptoms and ignores my labs. Any other Doc looks at my labs and wants to lower my meds but hell no I wont let them. So right now I am on just T3 no T4 at all.
Hi Connie, I'm happy that your Doc listened to you. We of all people know when our body is not well. Some Doctors don't care to listen.. It's bad when things go crazy. I've fired so many Doctors. LOL... They are something else here in Florida. So I'm hoping my own research will help me. My knees ache, body is fill of fluid, I'm tired, skin is dry, hair is falling out, I'm always hungry. When you meet a new Doctor and they are like oh what can we do for you. Give me something that will help. I tried cytomel. I think between the nature thryoid and the cytomel I got way too much. Then I was freaking itchy like I could jump out of my skin. Awwww I was like this is life. Then I just say it could be worse. So I know one day I will get better. I will let you know next week how my ultra-sound went on my thryoid. It hurts when I swallow. Keep healthy.. :)
Ive been on Nature Throid for 8 days and although it seems as if my hair has stopped falling out and I have a little more energy, I cant stop eating all of the sudden and Ive gained weight!! Im bloated and have breast tenderness. My asthma has flaired and Im irritable too. Im actually hot most of the time now instead of being cold! Im so upset. I thought this was my answer but it isn't. I dont know what to do now! My antibodies were high, but TSH and T4 were normal. Total T3 was a little low. I have every symptom though! Help!
I am on Acella at .5 mg's or one grain. It helped for about one week. I have chronic lyme and co-infections which messes with everything! I am soooo fatigued that I can't even get up in the morning! I can't get going until about 2 in the aft! And then am ready to go to sleep at 8 PM! Then am up at 2 AM but still fatigued! Does anyone think T3/cytomel could be the answer? My thyroid is off in every level!
PS - I am not overweight, but my hair is falling out and my skin is very dry and my memory is foggy and I have huge joint pain!
Thanks anyone for any help!
