My pain doctor stopped me cold turkey from my Zanaflex. I was taking 4mg 3 times a day. He did this, per his thinking, so I would not have as much daytime drowsiness and it would make me feel better. Now I'm back to having horrible muscle spasm's. I have some Robaxin's 750mg from before the Zanaflex. Would it be safe to just take them until I can call him on Monday. I don't see why not, but wanted someone elses opinion. The spasm's are driving me crazy, and are so uncomfortable. Thanks for listening. Ruth

Ruthie Sweetie,
I am no expert for sure but I really don't think that would hurt a thing especially if you are having terrible muscle spasms. I don't know what your doctor was thinking stopping the Zanaflex and not putting you on another muscle relaxer. I don't know how long you were taking it but that just seems SO wrong to me. Anyway good luck sweetie and I hope the Robaxin gives you some relief. Love ya bunches. Let me know how you are doing. You are, as always in my thoughts and prayers.
Big hugs -Terri-

Valium 5mg-10mg are great for muscle spasms. They work best when you take it only as needed though because they are very long acting. So you won't need to be taking those 3-4 times a day, just 1-2 times on days when it's bad enough. I've been on these over 11 years without any addiction, tolerance increase, or withdrawl problems. And they're an essential drug that's known to be safe to use as needed. Just make sure you're wide awake when you take them.
Hi amadeous,
I agree, valium is an excellent MR, yet if her doc took her zanaflex away, he most certainly won't prescribe valium.
If she can get to another doc that will prescribe it... great, but how many docs write for benzo's anymore? Not many I'd venture to guess.
But tis a good idea in theory!

I am doing a little better today. I do think I'm going to have to get on an AD med at least for a while. But that's okay. At this point I just want to feel better. I think I'm kinda freaking my family out. They've never seen me down like this. But I know it will get better and I know it will for you too sweetie.

At least you see it, and recognize it, and are willing to do something about it. Allot of people don't. And I know you're family means the world to you. You will get to feeling better soon. I just know you will. Big loves and hugs. Ruthie

Hey Terri,
My doctor called in some Robaxin, and it works better on my muscle spasm's than the Zanaflex did. I liked the Zanaflex, but the Robaxin works great too. Feels good to get rid of the spasm's for sure... The sun just came out. I plan to have a good day. Hope you do too honey. Thanks for you're concern. Love Ruthie
Hey Ruthie,
I'm so glad you're getting some relief. It's funny you saying the sun just came out there. It just started raining buckets here in Texas. It's supposed to rain for a couple of days but I really don't mind the rain. I will talk to you soon sweetie.
Love and hugs -Terri-
I'm going to send you a pq about something.
