My daughter was prescribed Prednisolone on Oct 28, 2011 for coughing but at the time she did not have much of an appetite so I did not give it to her since it was suppose to be taken with food. Now, it seems that her cough has come back a little and keeps her awake at night sometimes. So, my question is, is it okay to give her the medicine now since her appetite has returned and she still has two doses left in the bottle?
If your child is prescribed medicine and does not take all the doses up to how long can you keep it?

My son has horrible asthma and has been on this med numerous ( its a steroid)times. Its the type of med that really has to be taken as prescribed or the effects differ. I understand this med has some quite apparent side effects my son turns into a crazy boy super active even makes him easy aggravated.I also know appetite can be affected not sure of the age of your child but if older even if you can get them to take with glass of milk should be fine. Also I understand as moms we get very concern when our children don't eat but when sick its OK ( to degree of course) Just make sure they are intaking plenty of fluids may concern be hydration and try small little nutrious snacks in stead of meals ma also help. However I do agree that giving the last 2 doses isn't going to do much.
