If you have a reaction to Venofer can you also have a reaction to oral iron?

Some iron suppliments have worse side effects than others. Your physician needs to be aware if you have had ANY reaction to any iron suppliment in the past. If you receive the medication IV, perhaps it could be given more slowly, or you may need to be premedicated prior to the dose of venofer. Either way, it is imperative that your physician knows of any adverse reactions you have previously had when taking iron.
