It's actually for my mom who is 66 and 1/2years old. She had quadruple bypass surgery and has never been on any medication before said bypass. They, the doctors, say her cholesterol is still high but took her from taking 20 mg Zocor to 10mg of crestor. Any help as to why they would do that? Is Crestor two times more powerful than Zocor?

Yes, that dose of Crestor should be fine. Ideally the dose should be started with 5mg of Crestor, blood results monitored after a month or two and then the dose increased. But they are probably giving 10mg because she has had quadruple bypass.
