If I am taking 30mg of oxycodone twice a day and switch me to ms contin 30 mg will I go thr withdra?

Possibly if you are only taking the 30mg Ms Contin once a day. The 60mgs of oxycodone is approximately equal to 90mgs morphine immediate release. The Ms Contin is a slow release morphine so you may be able to take less than 90mgs and not experience withdrawals. Did the doc prescribe the Ms Contin once a day or twice a day? Did the doc prescribe anything for breakthrough pain?

Hi, I was on ms contin for 15 years and lortab before that and I never went through any withdrawls until I stopped everything. Plus 30 mg twice or three times a day(which is generally the dose) is kind of alot. If you still are having pain ask doc for some type of break thru pain med. Good Luck KCG
You should be advised that morphine is very addictive.
