Just before and after cataract my gave me drops to take 4 times a day. I am doing so, but they seem to cause headaches, swelling of my gums and neck area and also itching in the same area.

You could well be allergic to this medicine. Stop using the eye drops and see your doctor as soon as you can. See http://www.drugs.com/sfx/acular-side-effects.html for a comprehensive list of side-effects for Acular LS.
