If a person taking acyclovir cause of herpes on his face does that mean he also has it of the genit?

Just because someone takes acyclovir doesnt necessarily mean they have herpes on the genitals. It can be taken for Herpes Simplex Type 1 or Type 2 on the face only. However, a break out on the face can be spread to the genitals and spread from the genitals to the face with oral sex. The fact that he told you, seems to me, like he is probably being truthful. If he had no outbreaks, he might not have had to say anything at all. At least he DID tell you! Be sure you use condoms to prevent transfer of the virus to you and do not allow him to perform oral sex on you when he feels the tingling on his lips or if he has a blister. A good friend of mine was married to a man with genital herpes for over 20 years and never contracted herpes from him and they have 2 beautiful children! So even if he has genital herpes, you might not have to worry as long as you are both willing to be careful during outbreaks. Read up on herpes so you know what you are dealing with and how to avoid spread. This guy could be a wonderful partner!
