If a person is diabetic, is benicar harmful to the kidneys?

No. As a matter of fact , blood pressure medications such as Benicar, Diovan, and Cozaar, are the choice doctors use to help protect the kidney's when you are diabetic.

My doctor just gave me Benicar because since I have dibetes it will help my kidney and protect them?

Is this information correct? I did tell him its for blood pressure use so how can it help protect kidney damages.
