if the pill suboxone has a blocker in it and a narcotioc, what level or miligram is the narcotic equivellant to? is the narcotic strength equal to maybe a hydrocodone 5? or stronger. my reason for asking is to figure out if i take this to get clean wont the narcotic replace the hydro and not help me at all.

Suboxone is used to help you get off opiates. An equivelancy to another drug is really meaningless. Subs aren't used to get high unless the person is seriously blowing it. I can help you with subs if you want to get off RX opiates. Here is a link to read. Then look at the suboxone threads on the drugs.com forum. Let me know if you want my help.

This questionI would ask the Pharmacist as you are asking some great questions and a professional will be able to talk to you more about it.
Try this web page http://www.suboxone.com/patients/suboxone/ I have booklets about how it works. You can contact me and I would be happy to share some with you. I have them because I want to learn as much as possible about this drug and the effects on family, friends, patient and the whole being. I wish you the best.

thank you so much for the info. to be honest with you i was in a car wreck in 1998 and was on darvocet, klonopin, oxyfast, lortab 10/650 and 250micro of fentynel patches. that is not including all the migraine meds, antidepressants and more. so basically by 2004 needless to say i was highly addicted to all my meds so bad i was shooting the patches. i broke down to my parents one day close to attempting suicide and i told them i would die if i didnt get help and a traditional rehab was not the answer. at the time i had 2 little boys who i couldnt handle along with addiction and a husband who was addicted to oxycontin 40s. i was so bad off i started retaining water from all the drugs and the shooting up. i started at 105 lbs and got up to 194 lbs within 3 months. i then searched a procedure i saw on mtv about rapid detox that i felt was my only way out.

there were only 3 clinics that did the procedure, one in chicago that was 15 grand, one in california that was 15 grand and one in atlanta that was 10 grand. i live in tennessee so thank god the closest one to me in atlanta was the cheapest. the only problem was it had to be paid for up front. insurance was not an option and didnt cover it. surprisingly my mother told me to make the appointment for as soon as possible, so i ended up going 2 days later. i dont know how familiar you are with rapid detox but its a 3 day thing where they put you under anestisia and filter your blood clean. this was to take away the physical withdrawls and all you have is the mental withdrawls to deal with. the procedure ended up to be very successful for me but it did cost me my marriage. so today i am alive and well and consider myself very lucky to have had the means to be able to do rapid detox. having said all that my husband now has a grandmother who has been addicted to percocet for years and she told me about the suboxone and asked my opinion but i had never heard of it. i helped her look it up and get information on it. she is 68 years old and is ready to get away from the addiction so since she is not good with computers i helped her with this little set up. she is however scared that because this medicine has a narcotic also in it that it would take her from one addiction to another, so thats what we are trying to find out for her. thank you for your time and reading my life story, and if you have any further information or advice that would be so awesome.
