You could get information in details on Bipolar disorder on this site: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/bipolar-disorder/complete-index.shtml
Restoril (temazepam) is a prescription sleep medication approved for the treatment of insomnia. In general, it should only be used as a short-term treatment (for no longer than seven to ten days).
Restoril is one of a group of medications known as benzodiazepines. Benzodiazepines have several different effects on the body, including:
Relaxing muscles; Reducing anxiety; Causing sleepiness; Stopping seizures;
Impairing short-term memory.

Hello, I hope you are well.
There is an inductor for sleep an anesthetic called Versed (midozolam) 7.5 mg or 15 mg as you know it´s a benzo.
Now I aloo suffer from insomnia and I am taking abilify, it is great with my combo pm..seroquel, depakane, klonopin. Abilify it used to treat depresion, but if you really want to sleep give a try, and by the way you will always be more relaxed and it´s not addictive at all.-
Talk to you Di¡octor about it.
All the best buddy:_
WOW that sounds like alot of meds that you are taking there maso4169.I am not sure about all those meds.Nor am I trying to be JUDGEMENTAL in any kind of way just CONCERNED.Do you think taking all those medications at night are safe?? I looked up Midazolam and it is an injectable form medication and is only used in the ER from what I see on here and is not commonly used for sleep or sorry wrong term INSOMNIA.I would also like to say Seroquel and Klonopin.I used to take only Seroquel at night before and it knocked me for a loop.It put me straight to sleep but Klonopin and Depakane as well.Gracious I hope you have the Best Sleep in the world my friend.Correct me if I am wrong but that just seems like a whole lot of meds just for one medical condition MASO???
I also just wanted to say to maso4169.That I was not in any way trying to sound offensive or insulting to you.MASO it just CONCERNS ME that you have to be on this many medications at night to sleep.I mean!!! I am no doctor and you can probably tell me to go to heck but I know when people are either taking to many medications or abusing them and this sounds more like your doctor here not maso because I know maso he is a laid back cool guy.:)

Arcanoidcyst16,
Just wanted to add that Restoril is a good medicaion for insomnia, BUT you can't take it if you are on any CNS depressants because serious CNS depression can result! Also, you should know that it may take up to 2 nights before you notice any real benefits, so keep that in mind. Finally, it has been known to cause some people to feel "hung over". Hope this helps in making your decision!
No I wasn't thinking about trying it.I am just getting ideas on different mdeications.That can help me sleep a little better.
