Why can't I find the physical description of my Trileptal and Oxaarbazepine on any pill identification sites?I've looked up drup identification and nothing matches either one of the pills I have. The trileptal is a light mustard yellow. It is oval. On one side is APO and on the other side it is cerraded. On one half is OXC and on th other side is 300. the oxcarbazipine is also a 300mg tab. It is light brown/tan. One side is cerraded with no markings. The other side has B on one side and 293 on the other side. Are these foreign pills that have been imported?
I would like to have an accurate description of my generic meds, trileptal and oxcarbazepine?

When you look under pill identifier they are both tripleptal just differentc companies. Did you get q seoerate scripts at the same time one for each if so I would go bcak to the pharmacy with pills and ask them about it. If you have two scripts i wonder if it was just a mistake but your insurance would not cover the same meds in duplicate unless they are different strengths. Please let me knowe what you find end this is strange Barb
I hope this link helps good luck

I got a prescription for trileptal. I went to a pharmacy right away to fill it. I was given the brownish tab. When it was time for a refill, I had the prescription closer to my home, but same chain of stores, I got the light mustard yellow one. Then, this month, I turned in a newly written prescription for Oxcarbazepine. I got the brownish one. I had called my pharmacy when the refill for the trileptal had gotten transferred and asked them if they were sure I was getting Trileptal, after I described the tab to the pharmacist. He explained that each store carries their own distinct generic brands many times. Now that my home pharmacy has filled the new prescription with the same tab that I originally got from the pharmacy of the same chain near my home, I'm perplexed. That's when I decided to look up the pill identification and neither one was identified. That's why I wondered if these pills could be imported from a foreign country.

I also wondered if I was given a tablet of a different medication by mistake. I can't tell if the two pills have similar or the same effects for what they are treating. My Dr. is using them as a mood stabilizer for bi-polar disorder. I'm concerned if either tablet is doing what it's supposed to do. I don't feel much different.
I thought that was the difference with the pills it happens all the time and sometimes I get mad because I like the other color better LOL I never had much luck with tirleptal and had to stop taking it because it started effecting my sodium. I guess you just need to give a liitle more time and if you see no difference talk to your doctor. You pay enough for medication and if it doesn't help why use it.. Good Luck Hope this helps Barb
it really just depends where your pharmacy gets their drugs. Each genaric has multiple brands and when they are out of one brand they will just switch it to another brand (they are suposed to tell you if this happens but many MANY times they dont). its the same drug just different inactive ingredients (some times the same inactive also... so its the same stuff)
as for insurances... they just suck completely (worked in a pharmacy and would despise calling them... )
