Recommended dosage for Amitiza for adults:
The recommended dosage is 24 micrograms taken twice a day with food. (If you have the 24 mcg capsule, take 1 capsule twice a day, or as directed by your doctor).

I am 50 and my doctor prescribed 8mcg twice daily. I have just started and so far just a little cramping but nothing like I have when I'm not anything. No bloating, which is a first. Everytime I eat I always get bloating and gas. Since I took this first pill early afternoon there has been no bloating or gas. Just a little cramping, but like I said this is my first pill. I do recommend you eat with this medication. It is strongly advised by everyone that has commented on this drug along with lots of fluids. I don't drink plain water but do drink crystal light and G2, which is mainly made up of water and so far so good. Hope this helps you all and me as well. Will comment next week, when I can tell you more on my experience with Amitiza. Good luck with all who are on Amitiza.
