mono, i know. i've been so sick for so long. exhaustion is putting it mildly, just ill feeling, like my insides are dying from inside out. What might this mean? I know they are on to something, but i know it's not a simple case of mono at 55 years old, and I've been so sick for so long. i see other conditions with it and am conerned about Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.(spelling?)

Well if you do have "Mono" then you would feel the way that you are feeling, however you would also have a suppressed immune system which could and would make you more likely to contract other things. I have a suppressed immune system and have always tested positive for the "Epstein Barr" virus, but please remember that just because it is positive does not mean that it is active! A positive test simply means that you have antibodies for that virus and you may have had it some time in the past and not known it. I am so sorry that you feel so horrible and if you are truly concerned that you may have some form of "Cancer" then I would suggest that you seek out a Hematologist/Oncologist who can test for that among other diseases that are not "Cancer" by doing some specific blood tests and possibly a " Bone Marrow Aspiration for Biopsy".
I don't know if this has helped you at all but it is really the only thing I think that you can do at this point if you are not satisfied with the answers that you are getting and you are not getting any better with time and treatments. Good Luck and wishing you the best.
