I was told not to have sex 4 two weeks after having the Merena inserted. Is this for pregnancy?

If your mirena is inserted at the correct time contraceptive cover is immediate. It is usually inserted during your period or up to 7 days before your period due. Outside of these times may require extra precautions. See http://www.drugs.com/mirena.html
