I was recently prescribed valproic acid for my condition (bi polar) any thoughts?

Valproic acid does appear to be prescribed for bipolar disorder. It is an "Off Label" use.

Please see link below for other medicines which may be effective for bipolar disorder. Some medicines have reviews linked to them. You may find it useful.
