... have quit smoking over a year ago. The Symbacort does not help me anymore. My breathing is not better with the Symbacort. I want to try Advair again. The steriod helped open me up better. What do you think?

Symbicort and Advair are similar. They both contain a steroid and a long acting bronchodilator.
Symbicort and Advair are used to prevent bronchospasm in people with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). They are not recommended to treat an acute breathing attack as they do not work quickly enough.
Talk to your doctor about changing back to Advair. If the Symbacort is not working as well as it use to then something needs to be done.
In regards to the Advair HFA inhaler versus the disk - it is really personal preference. They are equally as effective.
The inhalers are convenient and easy to use. Howevery some people have trouble using the inhalers due to co-ordination etc, in these cases the disks are a good alternative.
