I was on 10 milligram focalin because of side effects am switching to 5 milligram adderall?

As you probably know, Focalin is Dexmethylphenidate, and is a close relative of Ritalin which isn't a true amphetamine, although the effects are almost identical (The DEA schedules them the same in terms of abuse potential). 5mg of Adderall is virtually identical in terms of strength and duration to 10mg of Focalin, so you shouldn't expect much of a change in effectiveness.

Unfortunately, Adderall is just as likely to cause headaches as Focalin, so don't be afraid to let your Doctor know if you need to switch medications again.

So far, Dextroamphetamine is the only stimulant-class medication that doesn't give me headaches, but it's different for everyone.
