The perscription states 50mg twice daily but that seemed a bit much. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Topiramate is a prescription medication used to treat epilepsy and to prevent migraine headaches. Weight loss is a common side effect of treatment and, although not FDA approved, it is sometimes prescribed for this purpose.
There are no dosage guidelines for weight loss. You should follow the recommendations from your doctor.
