ADG,
Thank you so much for that info. I've been on them now going on 2 months & fortunately had no reactions! I would love to talk more about the gastroparesis if that is what you're being treated for. I'm a Lil tired n having a brain freeze! LOL
I'm hoping to have a stomach pacemaker ASAP, but early Nov seems to be the timeframe for now. Welcome aboard and keep in touch!

Hey Tee:
I have Chrons disease, and my worst side-effects were extreme nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. I have been taking Zofran, Phenergan, and Bently. The Zofran I take daily and it works wonders. I take the Phenergen at night because it makes me extremely tired. It works as well. The Bentyl was awesome until I developed an allergic reaction to it (the first time with any medication). I had some hallucinations, and hives. But it worked so well! I was so bummed I couldnt take it anymore :(. So in otherwords, yes I have had luck. However, I will warn you that I didnt develop a reaction to the Bentyl until almost 3 weeks after taking it. Other than that, it should do wonders for you. Good luck!
AdGuay: Hi! Seen you are new to the group. Welcome! I also take phenegran, zofran and bentyl for gp. My dr has tried many meds since I was diagnosed about four years ago. My nausea is pretty much 24/7 so I alternate between the two nausea meds. I take bentyl for stomach pain. Good Luck with the gp. It has not been easy,
Nyla,

Teresa
Tee, Yeah I am still around. Haven't been on much lately. Seems like all I do is whine about my gp and figure people are tired of hearing it. Hope all is well with you.
Check your regular email. I sent you something there. No one is tired of hearing about your gastro pain, Hon. Thats what this is all about. If you only knew what I pulled over the weekend, you'd understand. My anxiety over this and some other things got the best of me, by a long shot. But the "family" here online helped me get over it,and they all supported me, and no one judged me bc I hurt myself. They saw it for what it was, I was so overwhelmed with anxiety and stress, it just overflowed, and knocked me for a loop that literally tore me a new one. dont ever feel that way.
Hi Tee. I also am at a loss of your condition, but see you did find a site on here about your condition. Welcome to Drug.com. You will find a lot of compassion, & support here if nothing else. I wish you all the best...
Hey I not quite sure what that is but my little sister has cystic fibrosis and has trouble digesting food. So I feel for u. Hang in there it will be ok.
Thanks, LB. Basically what has happened is the nerves going to my stomach have stopped telling it what to do as far as breaking down the food and moving it on out of my system. If I eat any type of regular food, it will just sit in my tummy, churning away and never breaking down. That in turn causes terrible pain, lots of stomach acid which then makes you very sick. This is why you must stick to a liquid diet or some soft foods like jello, pudding, broth, or the likes. This wont make you sick, but keeps you healthy. My doctor also recommended Boost nutrition drinks, so I use those quite often. Until they can obtain a pacemaker for my stomach, I have to follow these rules. Hopefully it wont be too much longer.
Im sorry to hear your sister has CF. Its good that she has lots of loving support from you and her family. I hope she continues to do well.
In Peace,
Tee
Hi Tee,
I just attempted to send you a Private Message, but sadly it failed!!

Lara, it means that my stomach no longer breaks down my food, and Im on a liquid diet until I get the pacemaker. I can send you my email address via private email if you want it. We can talk that way if you are comfortable with it.
Peace,
Tee
I take phenergran and zofran for the nausea. I was diagnosed aboutfour years ago. I have tried all different meds but nothing seems to help much. Two years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes which makes the gastro even worse. Harder to control blood sugars. My husband's insurance won't cover pace maker because they say it is experimental. If you have any other questions maybe I can help.
I forgot to tell you that I also take Bentyl.
Thanks, Nyla, for answering. Im sorry your insurance wont help you out. Im not sure what my insurance will do yet. They say that gastroparesis is normally found among diabetics. As of this point, I've not had any symptoms of diabetes. There is no history in my family. I have been on the Bentyl, Zofran, Mirtazapine, and Erythromycin combo since 8/4. It seems to be helping with the stomach spasms, even tho I have break-through pain a lot. It can be very uncomfortable, hmmm? Phenergan never was much help to me. I'd love to chat with you sometime, and talk more about our condition. Let me know when you are around, and we can send mail to each other if you like. Again thanks for responding.
In Peace,
Tee
Thanks for responding. I would like to have someone to talk to sometimes about it. People who don't know about this condition just dont get it.
Hello Nyla, I sent you a private message with some more information. If you have trouble getting it, let me know here, and I'll try to help you retrieve it. I'd be more than happy to share support with you for our condition. There are not many who have it, muchless understand what gastroparesis is all about. Im here for you, Nyla. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
In Peace,
Tee
Tee, I can't locate the private message that you sent. Where do you go to find it?
Nyla, in the upper right hand corner, where your icon is, click on the My Profile link. When that page comes up, click on the Questions and Answers tab in the middle of a row of tabs that shows up. Underneath the row of tabs, you will see a row of stats that show your questions posted, ?s answered, and you should see one that says private email (1). It should show up highlighted when you move your mouse over it. If you click on that, it will bring up the private mail like a regular question you would see in a forum. The only difference is, it is not shown to the public. It is only visible between the 2 of us.
Try that and let me know if you see it.
Tee
