Sounds like you have ome sort of navel infection which should be treated NOW. Please see another dr. The omeperazole is not causing this. Patti

This definately is not normal & omprozole will not cause it. Omprozole is an acid pump inhibitor for your acid in your stomach which is located usally a bit higher than your navel. As Patti said, your have a infection from something. Do you poke around in your naval with Qtip or something else to clean it? Maybe you have made a hole & now have an infection. My husband had this problem after abdominal surgery for a hernia, & it turned into a mess, so please go back to doctor or different doctor, to get this fixed properly. An antibiotic should help, but you should not be picking at it. a little hydroxzen peroxide is all you should use to clean, & maybe some triple anitbiotic cream applied with a Qtip until you see a doctor about this. This could turn serious if you do not do something now... mary632009
