Believe it or not, all labs and the personnel working therein, make mistakes, mislabel test tubes, switch urine samples, pour half of one specimen into another... just about anything you can imagine. The question is did every drug that was supposed to be there where it was supposed to be? First, I would request another drug test from a different lab using blood that you can check the labeling on, explain to your doc... never happened before, give me the benefit of the doubt...
This is serious stuff. I have gotten to the point of checking everything that the lab does. But this is my opinion . You do what is best for yourself. Please take care.

maxxine, welcome to the site. Did you tell them you were on the cold medicine & nasal spray? From what I have gleaned from others that this has happened to, this products can cause false positives. If it is going to be a problem for you getting your pain meds, I would ask for either a blood test or a hair test which will definately show exactly what you are on. You may have to pay for that yourself, but if it's a matter of receiveing your pain meds would be worth it. I am sorry this has happened to you, but you are not alone... Mary632009

Mary you are right on!! I had a client who I KNEW would NEVER take any meds but her own Rx's and the Psychiatrist put her in the inpatient ward for drug abuse. We fought like crazy, me and the doc, turns out she used the nasal sprays ALOT... Somehow the decongestants etc, can show up on meth

laura i just lost a whole msg of thnks and understanding bcause i was on the methadone prog 4 21 yrs. got off 4 2 yrs and got hit by a car & had 2 go back on due 2 pain in the joints along with a hip replcmnt.
