First of all I would like to congradulate you on you life change. Sub. is a big step and you should be proud.
As for the Colonoscopy, You need to talk this over with your Gastro. physician so he/she can make any medicine changes in your procedure. Please do not stop the Suboxone till told to do so. If your Gastro. doctor says stop it, tell your Addiction Physician so both Physicians can work together.

have u discussed this wit ur dr and the place doing this test on u in advance? if u r going to do this test maybe u should b switched to subutex for a few days befor. subutex does not have naloxone in it and thats what would make any pain med have an adverse reaction on u.

Thanks guys. I am actually down to 8mg a day now and would like to stop all together. I am apprehensive about going lower than 8 but need to do it for peace of mind. Any ideas on how to proceed from here? I abused narcs after surgery, not recreationally, so this all kind of blind sided me. Anyway, thanks!

hi jrljr2,it sounds to me like your takin subs the right way. did u get hooked on pain, for as long as u have been on subs? i learned a few things in the 8 months i been subs. subs are a new way of life, they give u time to learn how to cope with life on lifes terms.when we take time to learn what to do when shit happens and it will, then we grow as a person able to live the way we should have from the start. keep up the good work. i think your gettin it.
What happened was I tore my shoulder up pretty good and had a couple of surgeries. this was about four years ago. When my subscriptions were not being refilled by my doctor after 4 months or so, I realized I couldn't stop. I had some other things going on that I kind of self medicated myself to cope with. I am a person that doesn't even drink, so like I said, this blind sided me. I have been taking subs for about a year and a half to two years now and started at 16mg daily. To me, they are a miracle drug and like you said Subzero58, thay help me cope with life. I recently cut back to 8 mg a day with minimal side effects, but am nervous about cutting down lower. I really need to try and cut down but the side effects along with that crutch of not taking something when the shit hits the fan scares the hell out of me and I also worry about a relapse. I've promised myself I won't relapse but who knows. Any suggestions?
