Funny that you can get it in Seattle!! I live in Florida where it was developed by Dr. Upledger of the Upledger Insititute, and I STILL have trouble finding massage therapists who will only do pure craniosacral. When I lived in S FL near the Institute, it was no problem, though the costs were astronomical, though being without migraines is worth every penny!!

Cranialsacral therapy has helped me greatly for my migraines. You might find chiropractors that are trained to do this also. Definitely worth the money to give this a good try.

Guess I can't post another comment - so I'll post it here. I got the best jump on my migraines by doing allergy testing at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Search for a large regional or teaching hospital in your area - they are more likely to test for the out-of-the-ordinary allergens that a local allergist doesn't test for. I found I have an allergy to an ingredient commonly found in medications, foods, shampoo, lotion - everything. Turns out I was taking a medication that had it, as well as several foods that had it in them. It has made life complicated but you get used to it and I don't have severe migraines all the time like I used to. Best wishes to you -

I am allergic to glycolic acid derivatives - propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, glycol stearates, glycol monoesthers - anything glycol. I had a rash all over my face for over a year and the local dermatologist said unless I was willing to take steriods and antibiotics constantly he couldn't help me, so I went to Hopkins. They were able to test for a lot of things only a few places in the country could test for, and I turned up allergic to glycols. Turned out I was taking a medication that had glycols in it, and was eating some foods with glycols. I also was having an incredible amount of migraines at the time, but didn't connect the two - when I took glycols out of my environment the migraines settled down a lot too. I now get a very specific kind of migraine if I become exposed to any glycols.

Yes, everything (and I do mean Everything) I come into contact with has to be checked first. It's tough finding medications that I can take at times, and it can be very difficult to have surgery. Especially since I have a tough time with steriods - a lot of docs want me to be on steroids just in case of reactions but because of the severe side effects I only allow them if they are absoluely necessary to save my life. Right now I am getting 4 medications compounded (made from scratch with a different base) at the pharmacy - two of these are for over-the- counter meds that there are none made anymore without glycols. It makes for an interesting life! I've been rushed to the hospital twice not breathing after eating out and was told that the sauce/salad dressing was glycol-free and it wasn't. I was SOOO mad!!

Wow!! That must be so expensive, to have otc meds prepared especially for thee at your pharmacy... is it? If ye don't mind me asking that is.
So, when you go out for dinner, you must order things minus the Glycol? How do employees of eateries even know how to check all menu items for it?
I used to be area manager of several eateries/pubs and tis almost impossible to check every menu item for such things!!
How scary, you stopped breathing?? Did you sue the restaurants? Am I asking too many questions? LOL sorry EJ!!
