You Definately can't cut the XL tablets. You should check with you Dr to see what he thinks the best option for you is maybe you you can be on XL or maybe split up and take one of the 0.5mg tabs @ different time talk with your Dr to decide wat is best for you. You can probably take care of this with a phone call to the nurse.

I have been on Requip XL 8mg now since 12-10 and it is the biggest blessing ever! Since it is time-release I have had NO break-through of symptoms to speak of since first taking it. It does last for 24 hours - you take it at the same time each day. It does not make me sleepy - Restless Legs can be genetic according to everything I've researched but it can also plague those w/no known other related family members affected. My daughter now is experiencing it as is my granddaughter who is now 10... I now recognize that I've had it off and on since a child... i.e., 'growing pains' -in legs
I would think that the time release option would help with those who work night shifts since you don't get the full impact of a regular non-time release pill which can cause sleepiness - that has been my experience.
